The e-Shram portal crossed 30 Crore registrations of unorganised workers. MoL&E has integrated e-Shram with Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), PM-SYM pension, and National Career Service (NCS) to function as a unified National Unorganised Worker Registry.
- Unorganised Workers’ Social Security Act, 2008 originally conceptualised the Unorganised Workers’ Identification Number (UWIN); e-Shram realises this through 12-digit UAN.
- Target demographic: Agricultural labourers, street vendors, domestic maids, construction workers, gig delivery drivers, and home-based artisans aged 16–59.
- Self-declaration mechanism: No complex proof of employment needed; Aadhaar biometric seeding and mobile OTP verification suffice.
- Integration with BOCW (Building & Other Construction Workers) boards enables portability of State cess benefits across borders.
