The annual Periodic Labour Force Survey report highlighted an upward trajectory in Female Labour Force Participation Rate (FLFPR) in usual status (ps+ss), propelled by rural self-employment and micro-enterprise SHG expansion.
- PLFS metrics: LFPR (Labour Force Participation Rate) = (Employed + Unemployed looking for work) / Total Working-age Population × 100.
- WPR (Worker Population Ratio) = Employed / Total Population × 100.
- UR (Unemployment Rate) = Unemployed / Labour Force × 100.
- Activity statuses: Usual Principal and Subsidiary Status (UPSS - 365 days reference), Current Weekly Status (CWS - 7 days reference).
- Policy levers: Crèche facilities mandate under Factories Act (§ 48, >30 women workers) and Maternity Benefit Amendment Act 2017 (§ 11A, ≥50 employees).
